The Nurse Aide Programme (CNA) is a Virginia Board of Nursing-approved programme. This programme exceeds the required 80 hours of lecture/skills and 40 hours of clinical experience. Through lecture, video materials, role-playing, and hands-on laboratory and clinical practice, you learn procedural skills such as bathing, dressing, positioning, and vital signs. You also learn key communication techniques to provide compassionate care for the elderly and others in need of personal care. Our classroom/skills lab is equipped with hospital beds and all necessary medical equipment to practice skills.
The cost includes
textbooks, all classroom materials and supplies ($100) and CPR/AED/First Aid 2yr certification ($70), 2-sets of scrubs ($35) and Examination Fee ($94).
Certificate will be provided within 14 Business Days (count ONLY Monday through Friday non-holidays) ONLY upon successful completion of the course. Student will be eligible to apply to the Virginia Board of Nursing-approved NNAAP.
*State Exam is usually held at our training centre when NACES EXAM scheduling permits.
Additional Requirements prior to programme start date:
1) Current PPD (TB) Test or Chest X-Ray (usually $25 to $45)
2) Current Criminal Background Check from the Virginia State Police ($15 or higher)
3) Black Shoes & Black Socks
** Must be vinyl or leather (leak-proof) and be closed top, toe and back
** No canvas or slip-ons, mules, clogs, lace-ups etc...
Prerequisites: Reading Comprehension of the English language as required by the Virginia Board of Nursing
DAYS - 20 Days (usually 4 Weeks)
NIGHTS – 25 Days (usually 5 Weeks)
WEEKENDS – 12 X 10-Hour Days (3wks, skip 1 weekend, 3wks)
